My Ántonia

Willa Cather (1873-1947) – I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t know what to expect from the title. But I was pleasantly surprised. The story is about an immigrant girl that grows up in Nebraska. It doesn’t sound like it would be very interesting, but it was. I really didn’t know much about that time period or the people living on the prairie. This was based on a true story as well, which makes it a little more exciting for me as well. The story was well written and was easy to read. It was simply the story of a girl from the perspective of her neighbor boy. I very much enjoyed it. (late 1800s)
